Do the hard things TOGETHER – partnering with the Phoenix.

We can all agree that CrossFit teaches us countless lessons. None greater than the ability to do hard things within a dedicated community. The same goes for substance use and the ability to work towards recovery. We are intrinsically better together, doing the hard things, in community.

Your gym is already changing lives. Partnering with The Phoenix gives you the opportunity to extend that impact even further. As a Phoenix CrossFit partner, you’ll help remove financial barriers, foster meaningful connections, and provide a welcoming space where people in recovery can discover their strength - both inside and outside of your gym.

“We have seen so many lives changed by offering CrossFit to those in recovery + our recovery community has grown through offering CrossFit as another tool in the toolbox.”

– Carleen Mathews, Affiliate owner + Games athlete

What is the Phoenix?

The Phoenix is a non-profit nationwide organization providing sober activities for free to the community.  The Phoenix is fueling a movement that builds on the power of community and belonging to change how society approaches addiction and recovery. Through hundreds of weekly sober events activities (think CrossFit, yoga, rock climbing, pickleball, arts + crafts, movie night, game night, hiking, biking, meditation, you name it), they create safe spaces for all individuals to connect, build friendships, find support, and have fun.

Human connection and community are at the core of The Phoenix movement just like your CrossFit space. And why the proven model is making a real difference. To date they have served over 1 million people.  If you want to geek out, check out the research page here: https://thephoenix.org/our-research

What are the guidelines?

1.    All the Phoenix asks is that anyone who participates in activities be substance free for at least 48 hours – consider this the cost of admission.

2.    They welcome all – whether you are in recovery, a supporter, an ally – the goal is to create a supportive community that meets anyone, anywhere, wherever they are.

3.    They strive to create safe + inclusive spaces – this means being kind and supportive to everyone, including yourself.

4.    We rise together – through the power of community and belonging, they are fueling a movement that is changing how society approaches substance use.

How does it work within existing CrossFit communities?

1.        Space – hosting is as easy as using an existing class or adding a separate class that works for you.

2.        Volunteers – becoming a volunteer is a seamless process with engagement and support from the start.

3.        Methodology – your gym is built on constantly varied functional movement executed at high intensity with proven efficacy that literally changes lives and makes people more fit, happier, and healthier.

“My Phoenix journey has taught me that we can turn pain into purpose, struggle into strength, and recovery into a life worth fighting for.”

– Charlene, Phoenix Development Team

“The Phoenix is a crucial part of my recovery because it helped me remove toxic people and habits plus gave me better outlets and healthier people in my life.”
